The way Onion said in her review makes it seem like everything but the music in Quintessence is crappy and cliched. It's not. I mean, the way you said it... "Lunair is some kind of princess who fights with ANIMAL POWURRRSSS!!! And has HALF SHIFT! YEAHHHH!!!"

Anyway, it's really hard to put a synopsis of the story without giving excessive spoilers *cough*end of chapter 1 really got me*cough*

But I'll just put some screenshots and all that, etc. And describe a bit of the plot and all that.

Okok, back to the main point - basically, Quintessence - The Blighted Venom is the type of game that appeals to RPG game players who care more about the quality of the storyline and plot rather than the battles. Quintessence has battles and minigames too, and they're only ever put in places where it's appropriate (aka very rarely would you step into a place and TAH DAH there are new monsters for you to fight! And for some reason there are people there who aren't affected by those monsters! Hooray! Not.)

But I have to say, the battle system's pretty nifty.


And there are many, many cutscenes. As in scenes where you don't play, just watch the dialogue, animations and all that. And they're all either very emotional, mysterious or plain stupidity (VIKON! :D)

From Chapter 1. A familiar stranger, no? That's not very nice drawing a sword upon a girl, Reivier, but when she wants to kill you, it's a different matter altogether.

Ah, this scene from chapter 2. How refreshing.


Emo Lunair pwns too, you know. But perhaps not as much as Reivier, she doesn't go on a killing spree because of emoness. But Lunair is more of a killer than Reivier. We saw how she ________________, ____________________, killed ______________ without blinking, killed ___________________, had the entire third quarters of Aeria be destroyed because of her, etc.


This is one of my favourite minigames. It's so nice and cute and refreshing and you have to think. XD Apparently in Chapter 11 there'll be a bubble minigame. I'm looking forward to it.
